As of today, the filing deadline for individual income tax returns has been extended to July 15, 2020. This also extends the payment of any taxes due. As long as the tax due is paid by July 15, there will be no additional penalties or interest charged for not paying by April 15. We will continue to try to have returns completed as soon as possible.

As such, our office will be cutting back for the time being to where we will not be having any appointments. We will be available by email or telephone. If you have information for us, you may mail it to us, email it, fax it, or there is a mail slot in the front door you can slide the information through. Please make sure you have our name on the envelope so it will get to me.

If you own a business and have employees, new laws are coming out which may effect you. If your business is subject to the Family and Medical Leave Act, credits are available for payments made to employees during the emergency. Send us an email if you would like more information. We want to make sure you know to maintain records showing your payments for each employee.

The IRS website has a coronavirus webpage which is designed to help individuals and business affected at the current time.

Let us know if you have any specific questions. These are trying times for all of us, but we will make it through.
